Between here and forever; a collage.

Between here and forever.

The title, between here and forever, is what describes the feeling of the collage.

The background of the collage is actually a two-way railway track, the tracks are splitting ; signifying life has many crossroads to overcome. Basically there's two zones in the collage; one is the comfort zone, which is the one which is full of warm colours. I've used fireplaces, sunsets, swings and playgrounds to bring out the warmth and comfort in life. On the other hand, the other zone is a zone full of risk and adventures. Thus the roller coasters, skyscrappers, diamond rings, rock climbing as an example of the adventurous life the world actually is.

Interlinking these two spaces is a strip of film that is blank and has yet to be developed. Although there are pictures surrounding the film but they have yet to be in perfect position with the film, as the girl has yet to find a balance between who she is, and who she wants to be. Her shoes are displaying her feelings now. One of her foot is stepping on the comfort zone while the other is hesitant to fully step out to this adventurous world. Her shoelaces are strips of words, signifying she has put much thought into finding the right balance.

There are two butterflies in each zone; a red one for the comfort zone, a black one for the adventurous zone. Both are butterflies and both have their own speciality, beauty and significance. But they would teach us different lessons in life. I believe the girl would be able to step out and shine for the world to see. Will she find that courage soon enough?

The strip of film on the right hand side is the story of a guy. He is constantly on the run, just as life, is constantly on the run; no matter rain or shine. No matter what struggles we may face in life, we still have to persist on fight on the bumps of life courageously. On the right side of the collage, there is a tear. This tear can actually sum up life. No matter how many times you tear a paper, eventually each tear will turn out differently; No matter how many times you might struggle, eventually each hurdle will teach you a different lesson in life, and that is what matters.

Life; It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey that counts.
